Community Safety on Witspeak: How Reporting and Moderation Work

The Witspeak community guidelines in plain words, how to report and block, what AI Guardian does in live rooms, and what happens after you press Report.

Witspeak is built on voices, and voices carry more than text does. Tone, warmth, intent. That is what makes audio social media feel human. It also means safety has to be designed for sound, not borrowed from a text platform. This article explains the rules in plain words, how to report and block, what AI Guardian does, and what happens after you press Report.

The community guidelines, in plain words

The full guidelines live in the app. The short version is this:

  • Be a person, not a weapon. No harassment, bullying, threats or dogpiling, whether it is a voice feed, a live chat or a private Voice Chat.
  • No hate. Attacking people for who they are (race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, nationality and so on) gets the content removed and gets you removed.
  • No sexual content involving minors, ever. This is reported to the authorities, not just moderated.
  • No adult sexual content. Witspeak is 13+, and the feed is shared.
  • No violence or self-harm promotion. Talking about hard things is allowed. Glorifying or encouraging harm is not.
  • No scams, spam or impersonation. One account, your own name or a clear pseudonym, no pretending to be someone else.
  • No illegal content. Including audio you do not have the rights to.
  • Respect privacy. Do not share other people's personal details, recordings of private conversations, or Voice Chat messages that were meant to disappear.

Debate, disagreement, strong opinions and dark humour are all fine. Cruelty is not.

How to report a voice feed, a channel or a person

Reporting takes about ten seconds.

  • Find the voice feed, channel, live session or profile.
  • Tap the three dots menu.
  • Tap Report.
  • Pick a category: Harassment, Hate, Sexual content, Violence or self-harm, Spam or scam, Impersonation, Minor safety, Illegal content, or Something else.
  • Add a sentence if you can. For long audio, the timestamp of the moment helps most.
  • Submit.

Reports are confidential. The person you report is never told who reported them.

For a live session, reporting while it is still live is better than afterwards, because AI Guardian and the moderation team can act in the moment.

Blocking and muting

You do not have to wait for a decision to protect your own space.

  • Block a person from their profile or from the three dots menu. They cannot follow you, hear your feeds, join your channel, send you Voice Chat messages or play your Voice bio. They are not told.
  • Mute a channel or a person if you want them out of your timeline without the full block.
  • Restrict chat on your own channel to followers only, or to people you approve, from the channel settings.
  • Remove or ban anyone from your live session with one tap. Channel owners are the first moderators of their own rooms.

What AI Guardian does

AI Guardian is real-time moderation for live audio and chat. While a goLive session is running, it listens for slurs, threats, sexual content and coordinated spam, in the audio and in the chat. When it is confident, it acts instantly on the channel owner's rules: a warning, a mute or a removal. When it is less sure, it flags the moment for a human to review.

It does not listen to your private Voice Chat messages, and it does not make final decisions about accounts. People do that.

What happens after a report

  • Triage. Every report lands in a queue sorted by severity. Minor safety and violence reports jump the queue.
  • Review. A member of the trust and safety team listens to the audio or reads the chat, with the timestamp you gave, and checks it against the guidelines.
  • Action. Depending on the finding: nothing (if it does not break a rule), content removed, a warning, a temporary restriction on posting or going live, or account removal for serious or repeated breaches.
  • You hear back. You get a notification when the report is closed. For privacy reasons it says whether action was taken, not the exact action.

The team aims to close most reports within a day. Serious reports are handled faster.

Appeals

If your content was removed or your account was restricted and you think it was a mistake, email [email protected] from the address on your account with the subject line "Appeal". Include what was removed and why you think it should stand. Appeals are reviewed by a different person from the one who made the original decision, and you get a written answer.

Keeping minors safe

Witspeak is for people aged 13 and over. Accounts found to belong to younger children are removed. For teenagers who are old enough to be here:

  • Voice Chat messages auto-delete after one play by design, so there is no archive of private audio to leak.
  • Adults who contact minors inappropriately are removed and, where the law requires, reported.
  • Parents and guardians can email [email protected] to raise a concern about any account.
  • Anyone can report a Minor safety issue through the three dots menu, and those reports go to the front of the queue.

A note on being a good listener

Most safety on a platform like this does not come from rules. It comes from the room. Report what you see. Block who you need to. Welcome new voices, and use reSpeak to amplify the ones that make the place better. That is what keeps Witspeak sounding like people.

Download the Witspeak app, set up your channel and chat settings the way you want them, and know that the Report button is always one tap away.
