Four years ago we shipped a beta. Today we are shipping the app we always meant to build.
Witspeak started in 2021 with a simple idea: social media should sound like people, not look like a slot machine. The 2022 beta on iOS and Android proved the idea. People recorded 30-second voice feeds instead of typing, listened on the way to work instead of scrolling, and told us what was missing. We listened, and then we went quiet for a while to rebuild.
Here is what is new, what is coming and what has not changed.
A rebuilt app
The 2026 Witspeak app is new from the ground up on both iOS and Android. Same idea, faster everything.
- Startup and playback are faster, and the audio engine has been rebuilt so Play All moves between feeds without the gaps and pops of the beta.
- Recording now has one-tap cleanup built in. Record a Speak in a noisy cafe and it comes out clean.
- Explore has been redesigned around channels and people, with proper category filters in Listen and a search that looks inside the audio.
- Voice Chat and Voice bio are back, polished and more private.
- Accessibility got a full pass: transcripts on every feed, larger touch targets and screen reader support throughout.

Witspeak Podcasts: free hosting, for real
The thing creators asked for most was a home for longer audio. So we built Witspeak Podcasts at podcast.witspeak.com.
- Free hosting with unlimited episodes.
- RSS distribution to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Overcast and Pocket Casts.
- A web player and embeds for your own site.
- Analytics that tell you the truth: downloads versus streams, which apps people use and which countries they listen from.
- A creator studio at podcast.witspeak.com/studio where you upload, edit, schedule and publish.
If you already have a show, you can bring it across with your existing feed and keep your subscribers.
The AI studio
The second big piece is a set of AI tools built into both the app and the podcast studio. They are there to remove chores, not to replace you.
- AI Voice Studio: noise removal, auto-levelling and mastering to -16 LUFS in one tap.
- AI Highlight Clips: the best 30-second moments from a long episode, cut and ready to post as voice feeds.
- AI Dubbing and Translation: your episode in 30+ languages, with an optional cloned version of your own voice.
- Speech-to-Text search: automatic transcripts, so every word you have said on Witspeak is searchable.
- AI Show Notes and Chapters: a draft summary and chapter markers for every episode.
- Smart Play All: a Play All feed that learns what you like.
- AI Guardian: real-time moderation for live audio and chat.
Every AI feature is optional. Voice cloning only works on your own voice, with your consent, and you can delete the clone at any time.
What stays the same
We rebuilt the app. We did not rebuild the idea.
- Speak is still a 30-second voice feed with a title, a language and a topic.
- Play All still plays your whole timeline back to back in one tap.
- reSpeak still lets you share someone else's feed to your own timeline.
- Channels and goLive still let you broadcast live or play pre-recorded audio with a live chat.
- INC coins still work the same way: 1 coin is roughly 10 cents, listeners gift them, creators cash out from 1,000 coins.
- Voice Chat still auto-deletes after one play.
- Witspeak is still 13+ and still built for less screen time.

Why audio, still
The case for audio social media is stronger in 2026 than it was in 2021. Screen time is the thing everyone says they want less of. Audio is the format you can use while living your life. A voice carries tone, warmth and intent in a way text never will, and a 30-second limit keeps it honest.
Less screen time. Less scrolling. More human. That was the pitch in 2021. It is the product now.
