Witspeak 2.0 Release Notes

Witspeak 2.0 is the first release of the rebuilt platform: a new iOS and Android app, Witspeak Podcasts and the AI studio. These notes list what changed, what is known to be rough and what is coming next. Future releases will follow the same structure.

Release: Witspeak 2.0 (app build 2.0.0, podcast studio 2.0). Availability: the app rolls out from the waitlist at /download, and the podcast studio is open at podcast.witspeak.com.

App

New from the ground up on iOS and Android.

• Rebuilt audio engine. Play All now moves between voice feeds with no gaps and no pops.
• Faster startup and timeline load. Playback starts in under a second on a normal connection.
• Background playback and lock-screen controls on both platforms.
• Speak recorder redesigned: waveform preview, trim before posting, one-tap AI cleanup, and the 30-second limit shown as a ring so you can see the time left.
• Topic picker covers all 16 topics (Advice, Belief, Comedy, Daily, Entertainment, Gaming, Health, Motivation, Nature, News, Politics, Relationship, Sports, Storytelling, Technology, Weather) with a language selector on every feed.
• Listen has a category filter and shows new episodes from subscribed channels at the top.
• Explore redesigned around channels and people, with trending topics and a search that looks inside transcripts.
• Voice Chat: private voice messages auto-delete after one play, with a clearer "played" state.
• Voice bio recorder supports re-recording and a 60-second preview before saving.
• Accessibility: transcripts on every feed, VoiceOver and TalkBack labels throughout, larger touch targets and a reduced motion setting.
• Beta accounts sign in with the same details.

Podcasts

Witspeak Podcasts launches at podcast.witspeak.com.

• Free hosting with unlimited episodes.
• RSS feeds distributed to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Overcast and Pocket Casts, with submission links for each.
• Import an existing show by RSS, with a guide to redirecting your old feed so subscribers follow you across.
• Web player for every show and episode, plus embeds for your own site.
• Analytics: downloads versus streams, listening apps, countries and a per-episode view.
• Creator studio at podcast.witspeak.com/studio: upload, schedule, edit metadata, artwork, chapters and show notes in one place.
• Episodes can be cross-posted to the app as highlight clips in the voice feed.

AI studio

Available inside the app recorder and the podcast studio.

• AI Voice Studio: one-tap noise removal, auto-levelling and mastering to -16 LUFS. Runs on feeds and on full episodes.
• AI Highlight Clips: cuts the best 30-second moments from a long episode and queues them as Speak drafts.
• AI Dubbing and Translation: 30+ languages, with a stock voice or an optional clone of your own voice. Clones are consent-gated and can be deleted at any time.
• Speech-to-Text search: automatic transcripts for every feed and episode, searchable from Explore and from the podcast web player.
• AI Show Notes and Chapters: draft summary, key points and chapter timestamps on every episode.
• Smart Play All: an optional Play All mode that learns your taste. Off by default, toggle it in settings.
• AI Guardian: real-time moderation of live audio and chat on goLive sessions, with per-channel rules.

Creators

• Earn on Channel: coin gifting on channels and voice feeds. 1 coin is roughly 10 cents. Cash out from 1,000 coins (about 100 dollars) through the payout methods shown in the app.
• Gift history and a creator balance view under Earn on Channel.
• goLive supports live audio and pre-recorded audio playback, with live chat and one-tap remove or ban.
• Channel settings: chat restricted to followers or approved listeners, a welcome message, and scheduled sessions that notify subscribers.
• reSpeak now carries attribution to the original creator and counts toward their stats.

Safety

• Reporting from the three dots menu on every feed, channel, session and profile, with categories and an optional timestamp.
• Block and mute, with blocks applied across feeds, channels, Voice Chat and Voice bio.
• AI Guardian flags plus human review for every live session.
• Appeals via [email protected], reviewed by a different person from the original decision.
• Minimum age is 13. Accounts found to belong to younger children are removed.
• Refund and dispute requests for coins go to [email protected].

Known issues

• Dubbing for a small number of language pairs can lag by several minutes on long episodes. A progress indicator is coming.
• Smart Play All needs a few days of listening before recommendations feel personal.
• On some older Android devices, background playback can pause when battery saver is on. A fix is in testing.
• Podcast analytics for the first 48 hours after an import may undercount historical downloads from the previous host.
• Chapter markers from AI Show Notes may land a few seconds early on episodes with long musical intros.

• Region-by-region rollout of the app from the waitlist.
